about me

who am i?

My first venture into motorsport photography was back in late 2007 when I attended a BRSCC event at Oulton Park with my newly-acquired Kodak Easyshare bridge camera. The results were predictably poor, but I was truly hooked and determined to learn the craft.

For the 2008 season I upgraded my equipment to a Canon digital slr, attending numerous events, including a British GT meeting with intent on honing my skills. After only my first 3 meetings both the BRSCC and the BARC had sought permission to display my work on their respective webstes and by the end of the year my work had featured in the BARC's Startline magazine, the Northwich Guardian and the Fife Times.

2009 has seen my photography go from strength to strength,I have travelled to more racing circuits, been published in well known magazines such as BIKE and obtained my first media bib. As well as expanding my coverage to more race tracks, I have also diversified into other areas of motorsport such as motorcross, karting and grasstrack racing.

2010 saw me complete my National Diploma in Photography and I upgraded my equipment to 100-400 L lens and canon 50 d. I have had pictures published in Auto Sport Magazine. I have been working alongside Speedworks racing team and have covered majority of BTC & GT and brit car 24hrs for them. I have been working freelance for the Northwich Guardian and have had pictures published on the front and back pages. I also gained a 2010 MSV media pass and cover the North West sports and salons for the BARC.

The main plans for 2011 are to carry on following speedworks motorsport as they embark on there maiden BTCC season.

In addition to my motorsport work, I also offer portrait, fashion and event-photography services, please feel free to contact me for further details.

Thank you very much,
Matt Sayle.
